Zane Daniel Quillin was born on January 13, 2009, in Ketchum, ID, to Danielle and Lindsey Quillin. He was the youngest of 5 children. Zane came home weighing 4 pounds 11 ounces, so tiny that preemie clothes were too big for him.
Zane grew up with 2 older sisters and 2 older brothers. Koby, Zowie, Rylie, and Brody doted over him, putting him in baby doll strollers and walking him around the house. He was the best little brother and was loved so much by all of his siblings. Zane loved spending the night at his Grandma Diane’s and Aunt Lyndi’s. He loved going to work with them and helping in the bakery. He had a knack for decorating cakes. He loved hanging out and having a good time with his family.
At a very young age, Zane found his love and passion for motorcycles, basketball, and football. You could always find him out riding over to the Picabo store, or Foot Hill Rd with his brother or friends. Zane would be out in the shed working on his dirtbike with his dad when it broke down. He would ride all day if he was allowed. He was riding his mom’s four-wheeler one time when he hit a rock and he flew off landing on his wrist, fracturing it. Mom was always worried about him hurting himself. Zane had a fire that grew inside him anytime he was on the court or on the field. He was an amazing athlete with the most genuine sportsmanship. He sank 21 free throw shots out of 25 at the hoop shoot. At halftime, Zane was always out on the court shooting from the half-court line to win a 12 pack of soda or whatever there was to win.
Zane had the biggest, kindest heart, always willing to give the greatest hugs and lend people a helping hand whenever possible. His light shown very brightly in our little community. Zane was a friend and a brother to most of the people he knew. His smile was the most contagious and always lit up the room. He loved hanging out with friends, and his girlfriend. To know Zane was to love Zane! There are no words to describe how amazing Zane was. We have lost a tremendous part of our lives and will never be the same.
We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of love, compassion and support you have all shown our family during this difficult time.
There will be a celebration for Zane's life on July 20, 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Carey High School's new Gym. We are asking anyone who has a motorcycle to bring it 45 minutes early. Please wear something colorful.
