Obituary for
Frank Tornello
Frank Tornello, 70, passed away November 5, 2010 after struggling for several months with a rare and serious blood disorder. Frank was an avid fly fisherman and a part-time resident of the Wood River Valley, spending the summer and fall months in Idaho and the remainder of the year in Southwest Florida.
He loved everything about living in the Valley, from the inspiring landscape to the unparalleled fishing opportunities to the pot roast with extra gravy at Shorty’s Diner. Born and raised in New York, Frank lived his entire adult life and raised a family on the East Coast but relocated to Idaho with his wife Rosalie in 2003. He readily embraced life in the West and enjoyed every day he was able to spend here.
Frank is survived by his wife, Rosalie; daughter Danielle Dean and husband John; son Michael Tornello and wife Megan; grandchildren Luke Dean, Erin Tornello and Max Tornello; and many friends from across the country, all of whom will miss him greatly.
A service to celebrate Frank’s life will be held on Friday, November 12 at 11:30AM at Light on the Mountains Spiritual Center, 12446 Highway 75 in Ketchum. A lunch reception will follow immediately after the service at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Frank’s memory to The Nature Conservancy/Silver Creek Preserve, Attn. Dayna Gross, PO Box 624, Picabo, ID 83348.
