Susan R. McAuley, 78, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on March 28, 1947, Susan lived a full and beautiful life dedicated to the people she loved. She was the heart of a large and close-knit family, finding her greatest joy in the simple things, her special love for the outdoors, and especially enjoyed riding in the side-by-side with Larry, exploring nature, and sharing adventures. She was also actively involved for the past 43 years with the Shoshone Indian Trap Shooting Club, where she formed lasting friendships and meaningful connections.
Her greatest love was camping, sharing stories around a campfire with family and friends, and spending time with her children, grandchildren.
Susan is survived by her soulmate and husband, Larry McAuley; her three children, Debbie, Mike, and Dena; and her two stepchildren, Tracey and Shane. She was a proud grandmother to Michale, Morgan, McKayla, Nickolaus, Matthew, and Sammi.
She is also survived by three of her five siblings, Linda, Tom, and Dee, who shared in her laughter, memories, and enduring love throughout the years.
Susan will be remembered for her generous heart, her love of nature, and her unwavering devotion to her family. Her memory will live on in every camping trip, every family gathering, and every shared moment of joy.
She was preceded in death by her Father, Blair Russell; her Mother, Emily West; stepfather Paul West; brothers Dan and Randy; and daughter Cindy.
In place of flowers, the family asks that you spend time with the ones you love and make memories, just as Susan would have wanted.
Her only request upon passing was to have no service, but instead a party to celebrate her life.
The party will be held to honor her life at the Dam Fools Clubhouse at Magic Dam on August 23, 2025, at 4:00 p.m.
