Life Story for
Louis Von Sparks
Louis Von Sparks, age 84, passed on peacefully at his home due to Alzheimer’s complications on Wednesday, 1st of March in the early afternoon. He was with his wife, son (Bryan), and daughter (Lisa) when he passed.
Louis was born January 13th, 1933 to his parents Stanley Hyrum Sparks and Elizabeth Marie Bischoff in Carey Idaho as a third-generation English immigrant in the house his grandfather built. He was married to Kaye Howard on December 6th 1963 in Elko Nevada.
He served on the USS Salisbury Sound (AV-13) as a Gunner Mate from 1952-1954. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and worked for the Blaine County Road & Bridge department until he retired in 2001.
His drive for perfectionism and his work ethic was passed on to his children. He and Kaye worked many jobs during their lives together to provide for such a large family which ranged from cleaning, animal husbandry, mechanic, to driving 18 wheelers.
Louis appreciated a good book and was often found with one nearby and his dry sense of humor brightened the day of anyone he met. His interests included driving trucks and raising a family. He is preceded by his parents, son Rory Sparks, and his brother Mike. He is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Kaye; sister Delores Smith; 11 children, Diana, Debbie, Lisa, Joni, Heidi, Michelle, James, Gail, Daniel, Bryan, and David; his 20 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild.
Services will be held later this summer on June 24th 2017
