Obituary for Richard Arnold Silver MD

Richard Arnold Silver of Sun Valley, Idaho, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, March 4, 2011. Richie was born March 28, 1940, in Chicago, Ill., where he graduated from Austin High School. He attended and graduated from the University of Illinois and received his medical degree from the University of Illinois Medical School.

He married Margot Nemeroff on July 5, 1962, In Chicago. Richie started practicing orthopedic surgery in 1973 in Tucson, Ariz., where 'he practiced for 27 years and raised four children. In 1995 he received his masters in business administration, which he used in his numerous business endeavors and the many different professional organizations he was a part of.

In 2004 he moved to Sun Valley, Idaho, where he opened a practice in orthopedic consulting. Richie was such a kind, loving person and his knowledge of so many different subjects made him so informative and interesting. He was always so eager and willing to share his talents so genuinely with whoever was in need.

Richie is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Margot; son Marc (Susan) and grandchildren Matthew, Dana and Caroline of Oklahoma City, Okla.; son David (Sarah Priebe) and granddaughter Madison of Michigan; son Todd of Los Angeles, Calif.; daughter, Heather, of Tucson, Ariz., and many nieces and nephews. He was a loving brother to his three siblings: sister Joyce Gerstein (Melvyn) of Highland Park, Ill., brother Barry (Patti) of Deerfield, Ill.,
and sister Cheryl Levin of Highland Park, Ill. Richie was preceded in death by his parents, Pearl and Joe Silver.

Richie loved to spend time with his family, ski, bike, fly fish, read and travel to many places around the world, especially his house in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, but his biggest joy in life was spending quality time with his children and grandchildren.
