Life Story for Nancy Rae Sherbine (Braase)

Nancy Rae Sherbine died unexpectedly on February 16, 2014. She was born April 27, 1939 to Thomas Mizer Braase and Pauline Lee Braase in Hailey, ID and remained in the Wood River Valley her entire life.

Nancy married William L. Sherbine on August 12, 1956 and they raised their kids on their farm south of Bellevue. She is survived by her daughter Rustin (Mark) Miller, her son Rocky (Terri) Sherbine, William L. Sherbine the father of her children, grandchildren Abby (Jeff) Sherbine Davis, Ali (Colter) Sherbine Ingram, Isaac Sherbine, Jozey Mitcham, and great granddaughter Gracie Davis. She is also survived by extended family too numerous to mention but she loved them all tremendously. Nancy was proceeded in death by her parents, daughter Libby “Joe” Sherbine, grandson Zachary Thomas Sherbine, brother Thomas Kenneth Braase, and sister Myrna Young.

She was an extremely loving mother and friend. She was there at the drop of a hat if you called her and said you needed her. Most of the time she was there before you even called. When you were loved by Nancy, you knew you were truly loved.

All of her nieces and nephews loved spending weekends with Aunt Nan on the farm. The grandchildren were always spoiled and hold a very special place in their hearts for “Mammie”. Swimming at Clarendon was a fun activity as well as floating down the canal on inner tubes. Hot cakes were always on the menu. You just had to decide if you wanted a family of elephants, turtles, bunnies, or Mickey Mouse’s. She was immensely proud of her children and grandchildren and made each of them feel special with unforgettable childhood memories.

She was very active as a Jehovah’s Witness. Nancy was able to attend several International Conventions of the Jehovah’s Witnesses. She was able to visit Mexico, Africa, London, Russia, and many more places. Her life was devoted to being a Jehovah’s Witness. She was never happy unless she was making someone else happy. The world has lost a beautiful woman inside and out.

The funeral will be held Saturday February 22, 2014 at 2:00pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 2731 Shenandoah Drive, Hailey, ID with grave side service to follow at the Bellevue Cemetery. There will be a reception at the Community Campus, Room 200 in Hailey following the grave side service.
