Life Story for Terry Roth

Terry Roth's battle with cancer ended on September 21st at his home in Hailey, with his loving wife at his side.

Terry was born in Spokane, WA on July 19,1951 to Phil and Helen Roth. Terry was fortunate to be raised in Martin City, MT, south of Glacier National Park where he was introduced to fishing, hunting, hiking and logging. He spent his summers in logging camps and winters skiing the hills behind their home and eventually at Big Mountain, MT. He became an Eagle Scout in 1968.

In 1972, Terry moved to Ketchum and spent his early 20's playing, skiing and bussing tables at the Christiania. During the summers he went back to the family logging business with his father and brother in the Coeur d' Alene area. In 1981, Terry and his brother Phil moved to Ketchum permanently and started Pioneer Wood Service, where they supplied the valley with firewood for 10 years.

Thirty five years ago Terry first kissed his future wife, Kathy Fehrenbacher, on New Years Eve on the "street of dreams". Terry and Kathy were married in 1984 and their first son Will was born in 1985 followed by Cord in 1989.

In the early 1990's, Terry and Kathy purchased the Warming Trend and ran it for 22 years and met many wonderful people along the way. In the late 90's Terry became an avid bird hunter and for the next 14 years, during duck season, you would never find Terry at a job site on Wednesday morning. Terry proudly shared his passion for the outdoors whether camping, fishing or hunting with his family and instilled in his sons a respect for others and wildlife.

Terry is survived by his wife Kathy; his sons Will and Cord; his brother Phil(his wife Donna); numerous Roth cousins as well as Kathy's many loving sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews and cousins-in-law.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00pm, October 10th at the Gun Club at Ohio Gulch. In lieu of flowers please take your family out to dinner and make a toast to Terry Roth.
