Life Story for
Arthur Edward Rodriguez
Arthur Edward Rodriguez, born April 8, 1927, passed at his home in Meridian, Idaho, on December 26, 2015, surrounded by his family after a long battle with dementia. Fondly known as “Art” or “Rod”, Art was born in New York City. A child of the Great Depression, he joined the United States Navy at the age of 17 and served on the USS Caswell (AKA-72), which landed cargo to support the 6th Marines on the Okinawa beaches during World War II. On the GI Bill he went on to graduate from the University of Miami with a degree in Business Administration. He then completed his studies in safety engineering and worked for the United State Postal Service as an inspector/instructor, retiring in 1993. He always said that God helped him find his loving wife, the sister of his best friend Pal Bernreuter. Art is survived by Mary, his wife of 60 years, his little angel Patch, his daughter Roberta and her husband Steve Morcone, his daughter Carrie Tweeten and family and his daughter Audrey and family
