Morris Jacob,70,a gifted professional musician, a master woodworker and a skilled chef, died of cardiac arrest on November 2 at his home in Sun Valley Idaho.
Morris, called Moe by his many friends, received his B.A. and M.M. Degrees from the Cleveland Institute of Music in Violin and Viola performance. Immediately after graduation he was hired by the Columbus Symphony. There years later he was engaged by the St Louis Symphony where he fell in love and married Anne Fagerburg, a cellist in the orchestra. For 37 years he enjoyed playing chamber and symphonic music in St Louis and performing throughout the world. Lured by the dry air and spectacular scenery, Moe and Anne joined the Sun Valley Summer Symphony for 18 seasons. After their retirement they fulfilled their aspiration of living full time in the mountains of Idaho.
Moe took DIY to a whole new level by renovation 4 homes and building and designing most of the furniture in their residences. But he was happiest watching football with his 80 pound dream dog Ziggy, draped over his lap.
He is survived by his wife Anne, brother Mark and his devoted lab mix Ziggy.
For those wishing to remember Moe with a memorial contribution, Mountain Humane (mountain humane.org/donate) is suggested.
