Life Story for
Jean Deardorf Mickelson
Jean was born May 4, 1921, on the family farm in Dysart, Iowa, and died peacefully in Ketchum, Idaho, on May 24, 2015.
She was educated at Dysart High School and Iowa State Teacher’s College (University of Northern Iowa) where she was crowned Homecoming Queen. Married to the late Marion Garfield Mickelson on July 20, 1943, they made their home after World War ll in Toledo, Iowa, and were involved in the community, law, banking and real estate. After her husband’s passing, she retired to Ketchum where she lived for the last 30 years. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church of the Big Wood, and a member of the PEO Sisterhood, Chapter CH.
She is survived by her two sons, Dr. M.R. Mickelson of Eagle, and John “Mick” Martin Mickelson of Ketchum, and their families.
She brought happiness to all who knew her and will be greatly missed.
