Melinda Gates "Mimi" Gorby

June 15, 1961 — July 26, 2019

Mimi Gorby left this life peacefully on July 26, 2019, after a quick but valiant battle with a brain tumor, surrounded by family and her love, Thomas Kay.

Born June 15, 1961, she was the first of six siblings. A lover of land and sea, she found much joy in both gardening and sailing alike. She was born and raised in Greenwich, Conn., but came of age while dotting the country living and working in New York City, Maine, Florida, Washington and New Mexico and finally settling in Idaho. Here she found her home in the mountains and joy in the wildflowers.

An accomplished floral designer and artist of many media, she was creating and making this world a more beautiful one. She was never a mother, but was a natural caregiver and found much joy spending time with her nieces and nephew.

She is survived by her brothers Matthew (Sara) and Seth (Hillary) and sisters, Tina and Alli (Quinn Connolly); and her nieces, Samantha, Ida Belle, Willa, Sloane and Ila and nephew, Kele. She was preceded in death by her brother Stark; and her mother, Martha, and father, Jack.

We like to think she is tending to a magnificent garden in the sky.
