Life Story for Patricia Ann McGraw

Life-long Hailey resident, Patricia Ann McGraw, 71, passed peacefully in her home Sunday, August 7, 2016. Pat, the daughter of Oma and C.E. (Tiny) McGraw, was born in Hailey on St. Patrick’s Day; March 17, 1945. A small town girl at heart, Pat knew everyone and everyone knew Pat; a real people person. She had a great love of family and friends. Coming from a large family, Pat was called upon many times to support them through difficult times. She is the mother of Gary Lee McGraw. Pat was a single mom and stood strong on her own. Gary was her son and she was going to raise him!

Pat’s Place was the gathering place and the place to be. Always filled with music and laughter; the door was always open. She had a deep love of music and was a phenomenal dancer. She loved practical jokes and prank phone calls, bringing many laughs to those who knew her. Pat loved late nights filled with playing cards and sitting around the fire pit reminiscing. Pat liked to visit people - traveling long distances or road trips with Elvis or Patsy playing loudly.

Her love of family extended to all areas of her life, including her work. Pat worked for three generations of family during her nearly 40 years at Atkinson’s Market as the Comptroller. Many part-time residents & returning visitors to the grocery store were happy to work with Pat year after year. Pat always took pride in her appearance, well dressed with styled hair & make-up. She had a thing for pristine white tennis shoes.

Pat will be remembered for her infectious smile and wonderful laugh.

She was preceded in death by her parents Oma and Tiny; brothers and sisters Eddie, Bob, Sharon, Raymond, Mike and Kathy and grandson Levi Stinnett. She is survived by her son Gary (Lisa) McGraw; grandchildren Felicity (Clayton) Mayhew, Chauncey McGraw, Heaven (Tobin) Walton, and Purity (Rodger) Braun; great grandchildren Zoey, Kash, Justice, Luke and Chloe Mayhew, Edison, Hudson, and Levi Walton, and Dayton, Kobie, and Gemma Braun; sisters Margaret Schoessler, Shirley (Bill) Arnold, Mary (Steve) Carey, sister-in-law Bonnie McGraw, brother-in-law Tom Lovell, and many nieces and nephews

May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind always be at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face, and rains fall soft upon your fields. And until we meet again, May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

A Memorial Mass will be at 10:00 am, Saturday, August 20, 2016 at St. Charles Catholic Church, with interment at the Hailey Cemetery. A reception will follow at the St. Charles Parish Hall.
