Margaret had the rare privilege of living to the ripe age of 102 years, blessed to be alert and cheerful to the end.
She passed away in her Hailey home with her daughters and faithful dog by her side.
Margaret was born in Chicago, to Swedish immigrant parents and was proud of her heritage. Fluent in Swedish, she kept in touch with many of her Scandinavian relatives. She enjoyed exploring the world, even traveling through China with her daughters at age 92!
Margaret loved playing Bridge and was a member of the PEO Sisterhood.
She is survived by her daughters, Judy (Dick) Prothero and Jane (John) McGrew, all of Hailey; her grandchildren, Jeff (Judelyn) Prothero of Barrow, AK, Eric (Margaret) Prothero of Santa Barbara, CA, Lisa (Nate) Scales and Scott (Sirimukh) McGrew, all of Hailey, and Michael (Tina) McGrew of Bonn, Germany; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Margaret was a great lady, loved and admired by many. Maggie, you will be missed.
A private interment was held in the Hailey Cemetery. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday January 18, 2020, at Emmanuel Episcopal Church, 101 2nd Avenue South, Hailey.
