Life Story for Marion Alysia Malarkey

Marion Alysia (Packer) Malarkey, 85, of Sun Valley, passed peacefully on October 17th, 2016 at the St. Luke's Wood River Medical Center near Ketchum, Idaho.

Marion was born in San Francisco on March 9th, 1931, and she was the beloved only child of Charles H. Packer, Jr. and Maude A. (Schendel) Packer. She spent her childhood in the San Francisco Bay Area and attended Dominican College in San Rafael, California. She took full advantage of the Sun Valley lifestyle, playing golf, skiing, and enjoying the outdoors at Pettit Lake. In her later years, she was known for driving her Subaru, the "Dog Car," around the Valley, filled with her golden retrievers.

Marion is survived by her four children, Terrence M. Malarkey, Jr., Christina D. McCleary, Shawn K. Malarkey, Peter S. Malarkey, her three grandchildren, Maureen A. Murphy, Bailey K. Malarkey, and Huntington C. Malarkey, Jr., and her dog, Billy the Kid.

Marion is preceded in death by her youngest son, Patrick K. Malarkey.
