On August 18th, 2025 Loie Capeloto peacefully passed away. Born May 21st, 1957, Loie led a life led by music and those she loved the most.
Loie grew up in West Seattle, graduating from Chief Sealth High School in 1975. She chose to lead her pivotal years following her favorite bands around the west coast.
The Grateful Dead and The String Cheese Incident led her to her partner, Craig Simpson.
In 1995, Loie and Craig relocated to Sun Valley where they started and ran a successful business for 28 years, while raising their two children.
Loie gained lifelong friendships and often was known as, “princess” but her favorite role was “Mom”.
Not only was she an exceptional mom to her children, but also a mom to everyone she welcomed with open arms. Her natural leadership and witty personality, led her with grace and fierce.
An avid lover of animals, politics, baseball and music shaped her and she carried that with integrity.
Loie will be remembered by her friends, family and everyone she knew as the light that lit up the room. She changed every life she walked into.
Loie is survived by her husband Craig Simpson, son Dylan Simpson, daughter Cassidy Simpson and her beloved friends. She is preceded in death by her biological father Theodore Zetterwall, Rozanna Capeloto and stepfather Wayne Maurice Capeloto.
