Katherine W. Allen

Katherine W. Allen of Francestown, NH and most recently of Hailey, Idaho died peacefully on February 16,2024 at the age of 94. Born April 26,1929 she was the daughter of G. Karl Wisner and Madeline V. McCaugherty Wisner.  She grew up in Watertown, NY and graduated from Centenary College in Hackettstown, NJ.  She was predeceased by her brother, Atty. K. Robert Wisner.

Married to Peter J. Allen they raised their family in Syracuse, NY.  The family summer residence in Chaumont, NY was a warm gathering place for family and friends and was one of Katherine's greatest joys.

Katherine worked for a number of years in the banking industry and retired from Ocean National Bank in Peterborough, NH at the age of 81.  She was active volunteering, serving on numerous committees throughout her life.  As an amateur photographer, she engaged in this activity for most of her years.

She is survived by her four children, Julie (William) Allen Kucharski of Milford, NH, Robert (Betsy Rogers) Allen of Syracuse, NY, Thomas (Elizabeth Fillmore) Allen of NY, NY, Sarah Curtis of Hailey, Idaho and her seven grandchildren, Peter Kucharski and his wife Jackie, Ty Kucharski and his wife Renee, Lark Allen, River, Carly and Wilder Curtis, Oliver Thomas Allen, her great granddaughter Emma Logan Kucharski and her nieces and nephew.  

Katherine will be remembered for her love of family and friends, her enjoyment of entertaining, her laughter and her genuine sense of adventure.
