Life Story for
Donald George "Don" Hogan
Hailey- Donald George "Don" Hogan, 84, of Hailey, passed away at his home on Thursday March 22, 2018. He was born in 1933, in Superior, Wisconsin, the youngest of nine children born to Carl William Haug and Katherine Jordan Haug. Don was an alter boy in the Catholic church before moving West with his family at age ten. He graduated from Lincoln High School in San Jose. He married Gloria Sansone, and following an Honorable Discharge from the United States Air Force, they settled in Westminster, California where they raised three children. Don's early working years were spent with the 7-Up Bottling Company. In 1980, he married Barbara Short and they made their home in Hailey, Idaho, where Don was a partner in the Hailey Hotel Bar & Grill. He was very social and charismatic, and had a special talent for making those around him feel good. He loved his family, was a huge sports fan, and enjoyed listening to Frank Sinatra.
Don is survived by his wife, Barbara Hogan of Hailey; his children, James (Debra) Hogan of Cottonwood, AZ, John (Janet) Hogan of Las Vegas, NV, and Reed Kaelin of Carlsbad, CA; he is also survived by seven grandchildren, one great-grandson, and many extended family members and friends. At Don's request, no formal services will be held. His family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made in his name to a charity of your choice.
