LaNeta Hansen

Carey, Idaho - LaNeta Ilene Hansen, 84, died at her home at the Hansen Ranch in Carey, Idaho, on Monday March 28, 2018. She was born June 10, 1933, in Jerome, Idaho the daughter of Claude R. and Leota Russell Hull. LaNeta grew up in Jerome and graduated from Jerome High School. On Oct. 8, 1954, she married Gail T. Hansen, in Shoshone. They settled in Carey where they raised three children on Hansen Ranch. Gail passed away on Feb. 10, 1977.

LaNeta continued her life as a single mom for the next 42 years. LaNeta loved quilting, playing bridge, community Christmas Tree decorating, and volunteering at church and the Women’s Crisis Center. She had a “green thumb,” was an excellent cook and a devoted Christian who loved the Lord.

LaNeta is survived by her children, Marc Hansen of Arco, Creg Hansen of Carey, and Julee Hansen of Aiea, Hawaii. She is also survived by six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren and many extended family members and friends. LaNeta was laid to rest next to her husband in the Carey Cemetery June 1, 2018.
