Obituary for Jane Marie Fowler

Jane Marie Fowler, 71, of Hailey died on Friday, October 28, 2011 after a year long battle with lung cancer.

Jane was born April 16, 1940 in Fort Collins, Colorado, the daughter of David and Veryl Fowler. She was graduated from Fremont High School in Fremont, Nebraska and Cottey College in Nevada, Missouri where she earned a liberal arts degree. She also received an Office Management Certificate from Missoula Vo-Tech in Missoula, Montana.

Jane worked as a bank teller in Fremont and in several cities within the San Francisco Bay area. She also worked at a few schools: as a secretary at Christian Life Center in Santa Rosa, CA; a classroom assistant for high schoolers with learning disabilities in Stevensville, MT; and part-time in the Administration office at C.S.I. in Hailey. She retired from the First Interstate Bank in Missoula, MT as a bank loan secretary.

Jane loved putting together puzzles, doing crosswords, listening to music and going to the symphony. She was a big football fan, especially for the Nebraska Cornhuskers and Montana Grizzlies.

Her activities included belonging to Job’s Daughters, PEO (most recently Chapter AM), several Bible study groups, and the Presbyterian Church of the Big Wood, Ketchum, ID.

The family is grateful to the staff and residents at Blaine Manor for the love and care they gave her. Also, thanks to the kindness of all who stopped in to talk to her while she was at the Manor.

Family members surviving her include: her son Patrick O’Connor (Kristen) and their daughter Kyler of Coeur d’Alene, ID; her daughter Kathryn O’Connor of Seattle, WA; her mother Veryl Fowler of Hailey, ID; her sister Edith Robertson (Randy) of McKinleyville, CA; her nephew Scott Robertson and his children David Pinkard and Mariah Jane Robertson of Hailey, ID and her nephew Matthew Robertson of Chico, CA.
