Life Story for Mary Louise Cesko

Mary Louise Cesko, 80, went home to be with the Lord on May 14, 2016, with her devoted husband of 59 years by her side.

Born in Colorado Springs, Colorado on October 19, 1935, Mary was the daughter of John and Ruby Ott. The family was later joined by younger brother David.

Mary’s devotion to David Cesko started when she met him at age thirteen. They married in Laramie Wyoming after Dave’s four years in the service when she wrote to him every single day. Together they raised three children John Bryan, Tim Robert, and Rebecca Rene as they moved across the country building churches and actively participating in each community. Highlights of their life included years of ranching and a year at Timber Camp when Dave worked the sawmill and Mary raised their firstborn with no electricity and no running water, proving to be one of the best years of memories. Dave then attended Bible College in Tennessee and pastored churches in South Dakota and Colorado before They pastored churches in South Dakota and Colorado before moving to Bellevue, Idaho in 1992 and pastoring Bellevue Community Church. Mary, an accomplished pianist served as the church pianist, Sunday School teacher, kindergarten teacher, and voice coach. She hosted special parties and worked in VBS and the AWANA program instilling the love and knowledge of Jesus in children. While living in Bellevue, Mary looked forward to summers when grandson Luke would make his annual visit. In 2001,the Cesko’s moved back to Flagler, Colorado to help raise their three grandchildren - Zackariah, LaRae, and Tristan. When Tristan started high school, they returned to the Wood River Valley in 2013 where Dave began pastoring Hailey Baptist Church.

Those who knew Mary knew of her kind and gentle spirit, quick wit, and love of laughter. Her strength of character was seen as she battled and survived three bouts of cancer before cancer ultimately took her.

Mary is survived by her husband David her children: John(Lena) of Conifer, Colorado; Tim of Flagler Colorado and Rebecca; and grandchildren: Luke(Cindy) of Denver Colorado, Zachariah(Zoe) of Maretta Georgia, LaRae of Limon Colorado, and Tristan of Flagler Colorado; and brother David Ott.

John 3:14-17

14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:

15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
