Life Story for Karl Beznoska

Karl Beznoska. 1935-2018

From Karl's early days as a youth, he yearned for adventure. He emigrated to Australia, having survived the hardships of his childhood years, living in the war torn country of Austria during World War II.

He was always a hard worker and in Australia he found work cutting timber in the wilds of the Australian Outback. He loved that life...the freedom and independence, the sweat from wielding an ax and most of all, he loved all the animals, especially the kangaroos and wallabies.

After several years in Australia, Karl had the opportunity to "continue his journey in life" when he come to the United States. He settled in Ketchum, Idaho and was a long time resident of the Wood River Valley where he worked many years as a Sun Valley Ski Instructor. Karl loved it here. He loved the outdoors, he played tennis, loved to fish and hike the backwoods. Karl was a true outdoorsman and always the adventurer.

One of the many highlights of his life was several years ago when he had the opportunity to canoe the Amazon River. You have to be tough to do something like that. And Karl was tough.

Life passes too quickly and all that is left are the memories of a life well lived. Karl had a wonderful life and enjoyed time spent with friends and family who helped make his life so memorable.

Karl passed away on Saturday, December 1, 2018. He is survived by his son, Thomas Karl Beznoska and daughter-in-law Maureen from Boise, Idaho, and a sister, Brigette Holtorf, his two nephews, Robert and Walter who reside in Austria.

A Celebration of Life will immediately follow at 1:00 p.m., at the Limelight Hotel, 151 South Main Street, Ketchum.

'Life Must Go On' an old Navajo Prayer
Grieve for me, for I would grieve for you
Then brush away the sorrow and the tears.
Life is not over, but begins anew,
With courage you must greet the coming years.
To live forever in the past is wrong
It can only cause you misery and pain.
Dwell not on the memories overlong.
With others you must share and care again.
Reach out and comfort those who comfort you;
Recall the years, but only for a while
