It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Barbara Jean Perry, who departed this life on December 12th at the age of 79 after a long battle with Type I diabetes. She was born on November 26th, 1946, in the Upper Peninsula town of Ironwood Michigan, and touched the lives of all who knew her.
Barbara is survived by her spouse Thomas, children Kyle and Kelly, and her younger brother John. She was preceded in death by her older brother Walace.
Barbara is of Finnish bloodlines and grew up loving outdoor activities including skiing, hiking, and camping. She met her future husband, Thomas Perry, after skiing and it was love at first sight. They were married within three months and were still together until her death. Tom and Barbara started a commune near Woodstock NY where they welcomed their beloved twins. They moved to Bellevue ID in 1975 as Tom took a job remodeling the Colonnade in Ketchum where they could both continue to enjoy the ski bum lifestyle. They still call Bellevue their home today.
Barbara spent 25 years working as the night nurse at Blaine Manner in Hailey until she retired. She especially enjoyed listening to her elderly patients tell stories of the pioneering days of the Wood River Valley.
Barbara didn’t want a memorial service and will be cremated and have her ashes buried at the Bellevue cemetery in the spring.
Barbara will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all whose lives she touched. May she rest in peace.
