Colin “Coly” Booth McCauley, Jr., age 46, died December 21, 2019 after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born in Waynesboro, PA and for the next 11 years enjoyed being with family in the Blue Ridge Mountain area. He then moved with his family to Washington, NC where he excelled on his high school wrestling team, the Pamlico Packers “Pam Pack”. He also played for the high school soccer team and was known as “Coly the Goalie”.

He graduated in 1997 from Western Carolina University (WCU) in Cullowhee, NC, with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, majoring in graphic design. One of his first jobs was with Firefly Hot Air Balloons, near Hickory, NC. While in Hickory, Coly met and married Tiffanie Lange and their first child, Lydia Mae was born. Soon thereafter, he and his family moved to Bellevue, ID where sons Colin “Cole” Booth III, and Morgan Lange were born. The arrival of each of his children made his life complete and they were always his priority.

After several years of working at the Idaho Mountain Express newspaper, Coly begin working at the Gail Severn Gallery. His co-workers at the Gallery quickly became part of his extended family.

Coly’s greatest joy came first from his children, his WCU friends, especially Daniel “Danno” who was the best friend a man could have, his family and co-workers. We are blessed to have known and loved him and will miss his greatly.

Coly is survived by his ex-spouse Tiffanie McCauley, children Lydia, Cole, and Morgan, mother Nancy and sister and brother-in-law Jessica & Charles. He is pre-deceased by his father Colin and grandparents.

A celebration of his life will be held at Gail Severn Galley, 400 First Avenue North, Ketchum, ID beginning at 3:30 pm on Sunday, December 29th.

In lieu of flowers, for those who want to remember Coly, an account has been set up at Pioneer Federal Credit Union for his children’s benefit and will be used to provide for future sports and activities. (Pioneer Federal Credit Union, re/memo: Tiffanie McCauley-62, 841 North Main Street, Hailey, ID 83333.)
